Blackrose Cartel anniversary
It's finally here! Our first anniversary! Exactly 366 days ago, Blackrose Cartel was founded as just one of the wanna-be famous guilds.
At this point, first version of the storyline was created, and only criteria to get into the guild was to read and like the story. When asked, Blackrose Cartel was into all aspects of the game except trading, meaning PvP, PvE, RP and Social. For first few months we were completely inactive, having more and more members, most of which quit ESO after some time, while most active members soon left. Somewhere in middle August, few members joined which were really intrigued by the guild's storyline, which was at the time 3rd version of it.
Those few members pointed out to the leader of the guild Xeirseus about potential the storyline had in roleplay, and soon after there was a poll made where members were asked to say if they were interested in roleplay or not. Out of cca 60 members the guild had at the time, approximately 15 members replied with „Yes“ in their roster member notes. After this poll a guild meeting was summoned, during which all those who either didn't reply at all or replied with „No“ were kicked, resulting in 45/60 being kicked, and leader announced that that meeting was the beginning of „New Blackrose Cartel“.
After the meeting, Blackrose Cartel advertised itself as guild dedicated to RP-only. At this point, first versions of initiations were made. Seeing how almost all other guild had much more members than The Cartel, with only 20-30 of them actually being active and participating in RP, and having the problem of inactivity among Cartel members, guild leadership decided to address the problem by introducing the controversial „Purity Policy“, which demanded creativity and activity from all members by stating that guild isn't responsible for passive RP events and that those depends solely on guild members' creativity and self-initiative, and that being offline for 7 days straight without announcing it first by either leaving a note on guild roster or contacting an officer will result in getting kicked. First version of Cell system was also introduced, but soon failed due to poor organization.
Still being lead by this policy, guild didn't grow much regarding numbers, but because of it it isn't rare scene to have 50+% members online at one moment. Today, the guild has 5th and probably final version of its storyline, 2nd version of its ESO Official Forums thread, new version of Cell system, rank and initiation system has been refined many times until it worked flawlessly, and active RP, mainly because members taking initiative in creating various storylines, events and mini-events. Blackrose Cartel today can be proud by having rich guild forums when it comes to character backstories and storylines, fan art, soundtracks and much more, while being rich with RP in-game as well.. Some time ago, Dice RP was introduced to the guild, which opened more potential in creating guild events.
We did all of this in the first year, what awaits us in the next one? It's time for us to see. Who knows what will write here after next 365 days :D
